As-salâmu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullâhi wa barakâtuhu, May the Peace and
Blessings of Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala be upon you.
Dear Brothers, sisters, elders and community members,
We hope this finds you in good health and faith.
With the closures of the Trust in light of the COVID-19 situation, our main source of income has been removed from us. After spending years building up the Trust and, providing services for the community and guiding our youth we cannot bear to see our Masjid in a dire financial situation.
During Ramadan, our Masjid would normally expect to raise a substantial amount through fundraising and donations from the community; which would provide us with enough reserves to provide the Trust’s services for a good part of the year.
However, this year is unlike any other year we have ever faced since the Trust first opened its doors to the community. The funds that we need are vital in supporting our community and the work that we do throughout the year. We must raise these funds urgently if we are to continue in our services. Our services include dawah, madrasah, daily prayers, Friday gatherings, hifdh school, and youth services; which we have strived to build over the past 10 years.
Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet (saw) was the most generous person, and he used to become more so (generous) particularly in the month of Ramadan more generous than the fast wind in doing good [Bukhari]
To provide transparency to our donors we have provided our monthly expenses as follows
- Water Bill = 600.00
- Refuse Collection = 439.31
- Telephone & Internet = 565.29
- Gas/Electricity = 1401.22
- Insurance = 366.53
- Council Rates =2 800.48
- Others: £575.56
These are the major fixed expenses that we need to pay monthly, these are usually paid from the funds raised on Fridays, Ramadan drive, Eid events, etc. As all of these activities have been suspended due to the current pandemic of COVID-19 the trust is struggling with its finances.
Our appeal to you is a simple one, in order to help us raise funds immediately for the, we humbly request one or more of the following:
- Contribute what you can as a one-off donation or set up a monthly recurring payment
- Share our fundraising appeal with friends and family
- Fundraise on our behalf, and we will create a page in your name
Let us all come together to keep the place that is very dear to us in which we find solace and spiritual attachment to our creator Allah the Almighty.
Please contribute to our appeal. The Trust would be eternally indebted to you.
